Way back in 2018 my brother and I were camping at the IMSA race at Laguna Seca. On one of our walks around the paddock we found this pair of brake rotors sitting next to a garbage can. There rears were there too actually. We went back and forth several times wondering if we should take them because it was a mostly uphill walk back to the trailer. We finally decided what the hell these are cool we need them. After a little deceive work we determined they came form the #57 Stevenson Camaro.

I knew form the beginning I wanted to make clocks. So after sitting on my work bench for almost two years I got around to making them. The clock face is carbon fiber bolted to the rotor with 12 stainless steel allen head 1/4-20 bolts. Overall I’m very happy with how they turned out. The Mrs. even allows it in the house.

Nicely done. Did you use SAE flatwashers on that?

Yes they are SAE. It was kind of a pain in the ass to get the washer centered on the bolt when tight because of the slop in washer.

Are those carbon or steel/iron?..... How much did they cost new?

They are steel. I’m not sue of the c ost, there is no brand stamped on them so searching is hard.

For that exact reason, sometimes I’ll use non-SAE a size smaller.

Nicely done.

Might that have been 2017? I searched Stevenson and they closed their doors at the end of ‘17. http://www.dailysportscar.com/2017/09/05/stevenson-motorsports-to-close-doors-at-end-of-2017-season.html

Here’s your toasty rotors at work!

BTW, if you want, you can buy the cars that went with them....

That is so cool! You should post a guide of how you did it, that would be a cool project for all of us!

That is really really cool! What a nice way to add a little automotive flair into the house.

Well then I don’t know. I definitely got them in 2018 so I guess they were off another #57.
